The Congressional Seminar Essay Contest. The Congressional Seminar Scholarship: The Society of The Colonial Dames participates on a national level in the privately sponsored Congressional seminars, The Washington Workshops, by awarding scholarships to weeklong seminars for 10th, 11th, and 12th grade high school students.Scholarships, awarded on the basis of a 750-word essay on a topic chosen.The Freedom Festival Essay Contest is open to ALL Students in grades K-12, whether in traditional public schools, public chartered schools, private schools, or home schools. All entries must be received no later than May 18, 2020. All submitted essays must include a completed Contest Entry. No personal or identifying information may appear on.The George S. and Stella M. Knight Essay Contest is open to high school students. You must submit an 800 - to 1200 - word essay discussing an event, person, philosophy, or ideal associated with the American Revolution, the Declaration of Independence, or the framing of the United States Constitution. Essays will be judged on historical accuracy.
